Minneapolis - A tear tab closure strip AWT Labels & Packaging assisted in both the design and manufacturing has been given a WorldStar Award by the World Packaging Organization. The award was presented to the Fortune 500 company in Milan, Italy in the summer of 2015. 

The ergonomically-designed strip provides easy access to med devices stored within a carton by simply pulling away from the packaging. The tab then stays attached to the carton, eliminating a loose piece that needs to find its way to a trash bin. The design is intuitive and user-friendly, an essential duo in any healthcare setting.

The Tear Tab previously won an Ameristar award in 2014 for its innovative and complex structure. 

About the WorldStar Award: The WorldStar Competition is hosted by the World Packaging Organization (WPO) and is, “The preeminent international aware in packaging.” WorldStars are awarded to packages which have already won recognition in a national or regional competition and are compared by an expert panel of judges to similar products from around the world.
