Press release from the issuing company

Feature article shares perspectives from across the industry

Fairfax, Virginia – The most recent edition of the SGIA Garment Journal is available to members online, and one of the articles features insights directly from the mouths of top names in the apparel business.

The article, Garment Gurus Discuss Business Strategies in the ATL, was transcribed from part one of a popular session from the 2015 SGIA Expo, The Garment Decoration Business Dream Team. The panel was comprised of Marshall Atkinson of Visual Impressions Inc; Chris Bernat of Vapor Apparel; Tom Davenport of Motion Company; and Greg Kitson of Mind’s Eye Graphics.

Led by Vince DiCecco of Your Personal Business Trainer Inc, the experts (all of them in top positions of their respective companies) answered questions about small business production, workflow, employee training, profit margins and more. “The first thing we do when we’re considering hiring somebody is we ask them a number of simple questions. The most pertinent one is, do you think you know everything about X, or whatever they’re coming in for. Anybody who says yes to that would never even get to the next interview,” said Bernat in response to a question about the hiring process.

SGIA members can read the full article — as well as the rest of the comprehensive articles in the winter edition of the Journal — at SGIA.org/Garment.
