CreoScitex to Present New Flexo Solutions at Flexo 2001

Press release from the issuing company

CreoScitex, a division of Creo Products Inc. will feature new business solutions for the flexographic market at Flexo 2001, to be held February 27 to March 1, 2001 in Birmingham, England. CreoScitex packaging solutions bring the benefits of digital process control and thermal predictability and repeatability to the flexographic printing process. These solutions begin with file creation and extend through workflow management, colour management, file trapping, step and repeat functionality, proofing, and plate and film output solutions. At Flexo 2001, CreoScitex debuts Prinergy? Powerpack workflow, the first PDF based-workflow for the packaging industry. This end-to-end packaging prepress solution delivers functionality by addressing the specific needs of the packaging industry, including colour management, trapping, step and repeat and an open PDF workflow. Prinergy Powerpack is flexible, scalable and designed to handle the demanding prepress needs of packaging printers and tradeshops. Prinergy Powerpack is equipped with Internet utilities to connect the print buyer and sales team with the manufacturing process for faster, more effective job communication. Integrated Step and Repeat brings CAD die line into the workflow and enables accurate, just-in-time assembly. Powerful automation is available at the click of a mouse and the sophisticated Oracle database makes job tracking and reprints easy and error-free. At Flexo 2001 CreoScitex will also feature the digital flexographic platesetter family including the ThermoFlex 5280 and 5067 for wide flexo presses, the ThermoFlex 4045 for the mid-range market, and the ThermoFlex 2630, the first dedicated digital prepress solution for flexographic label printers. The ThermoFlex 2630 enhances the quality of flexographic printing by eliminating the film contact during platemaking. The ThermoFlex 2630 features the same 830nm laser thermal imaging and external drum technology as the proven Lotem and Trendsetter platesetters for the offset market. ThermoFlex 2630 images all commercially available flexo media from Asahi, McDermid, BASF and Dupont, as well as Kodak Polychrome Graphics Thermal Film. The ThermoFlex 2630 brings high quality, shorter make-readies and better press utilization to the narrow web marketplace. Available as a stand-alone device open to any existing workflow or bundled with the industry-leading Brisque Extreme Pack Digital Front End, the ThermoFlex 2630 is an affordable and highly efficient narrow web CTP solution. Brisque Extreme Pack includes features designed for the specific needs of offset, gravure and flexographic packaging printers, including an efficient new file format which saves processing time and improves predictability, as well as a wide selection of Step and Repeat editing software, including CreoScitex StepOne. Other developments include the new CreoScitex ThermoFlex imaging head, imaging three times faster than previous models of the ThermoFlex 5280, driven by the TIFF Front End. This imaging head achieves quality imaging at the rate of 4 square meters per hour on both thermal film and flexographic media. Visit CreoScitex at Flexo 2001, booth number 1612.
