Pazazz Acquires First Xerox iGen 5 Press With Extended Gamut and Thick-Stock Capability

Press release from the issuing company

Pazazz Printing has acquired the first Xerox iGen 5 Press equipped with both the optional extended color gamut and the optional capability to print on thick stock. The new press will help the Montreal-based printer expand its product mix, particularly with short-run packaging, according to Warren Werbitt, founder and “fisherman,” Pazazz Printing. It will also help enhance color quality at Pazazz, which is the first printer in Canada to gain Pantone certification for color printing.

“The first time I compared an image printed on the iGen 5 with four colors to the same image printed with five, I almost lost my marbles,” Werbitt said. “The fifth color made it just so much more vibrant.”

Pazazz also looked at presses from other vendors, “But for our needs, the iGen, with its additional pigments, the thicker stock, and the larger sheet size really made it the right choice,” Werbitt said. “It helps us stay ahead of the curve.”

The iGen 5’s extended color gamut is enabled by a fifth toner station that supplements CMYK with orange, green or blue to match a wider variety of spot colors, including up to 90 percent of the Pantone Plus Coated library. The thick-stock capability enables the iGen 5 to feed, image and stack media as thick as 24 points. The new press was installed in November 2015.

Pazazz Printing is a one-stop shop for integrated, cross-media marketing solutions, as well as UV offset printing on presses as wide as 56 inches, digital printing, wide format printing, labels and packaging. Founded in 1992, the company has nearly 100 employees and annual revenues of more than C$15 million, and is a member of the Xerox Premier Partner Global Network, where Werbitt serves on the advisory board representing Canada. Pazazz was inducted into MarketingSherpa's Viral Hall of Fame for its “Printing’s Alive” video. Website: www.pazazz.com.
