locr selects OpenStreetMap as new Geodata provider

Press release from the issuing company

With a new partner, locr enriches the quality of its GEOservices and personalized maps

Braunschweig, Germany – locr GmbH, the leading provider for geo-based marketing services, announced today that the company has selected OpenStreetMap as the data provider for their range of personalized maps and GEOservices products. Choosing OpenStreetMap enables locr to build on their successful history of developing products and services that improve customer’s marketing campaigns using the power of location.

The data in OpenStreetMap (OSM) comes from a global community of users. Everyday, OSM members from around the world update and add to the OSM database, ensuring the data is always current and valid.

locr takes the data supplied by OSM and applies their proprietary solution to generate accurate, up-to-date personalized maps that can be used for marketing campaigns in print, video or online. OSM data is also the foundation for locr’s GEOservices and GEOanlytics service that are used by marketers to refine their mailing lists with geographic precision.

Holger Urbanksy, Managing Director of locr, says “At locr, we are committed to helping our customers use location to their best advantage. Moving to OSM helps us to keep that commitment. It gives us the data we need to create personalized maps that include even more detail and information than before. locr’s technology, combined with the power of OSM data, give marketers the resources they need to promote the value of location in their marketing campaigns.”
