Elephant Print and Display purchases new Matrix 370P Laminator

Press release from the issuing company

East Sussex-based digital print company Elephant Print and Display, has added to its finishing capacity with the purchase and installation of a new Matrix 370P laminator from Vivid Laminating Systems, with the company also experiencing a significant increase in turnover.

The new finishing machine was bought and installed at the end of December, and has replaced a previous non-pneumatic model of the machine which Elephant had operated and used for the last three years.

The machine is quicker than the previous version by up to 40% and the extra pressure generated by the compressor ensures an exceptional bond between the film and material minimising silvering. The system also allows for metallic and clear foiling.

Due to its speed, the Matrix Pneumatic enables printers to laminate work even faster to get the job finished and back to the customer. Its key features include anti-curl technology and a semi-automatic feed as well as an automatic separator.

Its pneumatic pressure rollers allow printers to laminate certain substrates up to 50% quicker, saving both time and cost. It is ideally suited for applications such as business cards, menus, book covers, brochures and flyers.

Elephant currently operates two digital presses along with two large format printers, as well as having a wide range of finishing equipment for both large and small format print work. The purchase of the new laminator has coincided with an increase in turnover of some 23% over the last 12 months for Elephant.

Speaking about the purchase of the new Laminator and the enhancement to their finishing options, Managing Director of Elephant Print and Display, Jason Gadd, stated, “The requirement for laminating has increased year on year, and is still a popular finish on a lot of our work. The increase in speed was a factor with this purchase, but ultimately we are interested in achieving the best possible finish, the foiling option is also a bonus.”

Jason added, “We have used Vivid for a number of years and their products and service has always been excellent.”

Established in 2002, Elephant produces work for a wide range of mainly B2B customers and has full in-house finishing facilities at its premises near Lewes, East Sussex. As part of its business philosophy, Elephant uses environmental responsibility as a factor in procurement, energy usage and waste minimisation, and where possible advises its client to choose environmentally friendly products such as FSC certified papers.

Elephant Print and Display services a mainly business orientated customer base, built up of design and marketing agencies, local authorities, other print companies and freelance graphic designers.
