This new technology transforms AS/400 output into customized electronic forms and reports that can be printed on existing Ricoh LAN output systems from 5 to 105 PPM. This technology eliminates the cost and hassle of preprinted, multipart forms, specialized PC print servers and printer-resident data stream conversion models. The Ricoh OMS400 solution relies on host-based software, eliminating reliability and security concerns. The software captures, merges and routes print output from the AS/400 to a variety of output devices. Users can easily access all of the advanced capabilities of Ricoh LAN outputsystems without any original application changes. Printer Cost and Security Manager (PCSM) Ricoh has partnered with Equitrac and Software Metrics to offer the Aficio Printer Cost and Security Manager (PCSM) solution for Aficio printers and MFPs. This turnkey software solution enables server based print tracking for digital laser output across all networks. This affordable, total solution offers a host of benefits, including providing detailed management reports, tracking where and when printing and copying occurs and identifying current prints costs on all network and local printers. SmartNetMonitor As an integral part of a network printer management strategy, SmartNetMonitor offers an enhanced tracking system for all printer, fax, scanning and copy functions. Available in second quarter of 2001, SmartNetMonitor offers a dynamic suite of utility software that simplifies all aspects of installation, monitoring and management of Ricoh Aficio network output systems for both administrators and clients. IEEE 1394 Printing Technology One of the most versatile interconnective technologies available today, the high performance IEEE 1394 printing technology has become one of the standard interfaces for the PC environment. This technology is capable of transfer speeds up to 400 Mbits/s providing high-speed and easy networking with no additional configuration by the end user. The IEEE 1394 supports Universal Plug and Play, which provides dynamic peer-to-peer networking in any workgroup environment.
