Keynoters Havens and Dodge to Focus on Leadership at Epicomm Annual Conference, May 16-18, in Savannah

Press release from the issuing company

Attendees will learn key elements of successfully leading a multi-generational workforce in entertaining and engaging sessions at ‘The Epicomm Experience.’

Alexandria, Va. - Dynamic speakers Jeff Havens and Bryan Dodge will entertain and enlighten attendees during keynote sessions at The Epicomm Experience, the 2016 Annual Conference of Epicomm, the Association for Leaders in Print, Mail, Fulfillment, and Marketing Services. The association’s signature event, May 16-18 at the Hyatt Regency Savannah in historic Savannah, Ga., will focus on high-level business strategy and executive management issues in an exciting, insightful, and enjoyable program of education, networking, and social events.

“Leadership is especially challenging in a rapidly transitioning industry such as ours,” says Epicomm President and Chief Executive Officer Ken Garner. “The ideas and insights that these outstanding keynote speakers will share with our conference attendees will be invaluable in helping them lead their companies and their diverse workforces successfully under today’s difficult and demanding conditions.” With extensive backgrounds in the kinds of real-world leadership issues that impact every graphic communications industry business owner and executive, Jeff Havens and Bryan Dodge will present practical strategies and tactics that company leaders can put to use immediately.

A Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Vanderbilt University, Jeff Havens has transitioned from high school English teacher to stand-up comedian to an in-demand motivational speaker and author who delivers high-quality education in an undeniably fun and entertaining way that has earned him dozens of repeat clients in government, academia, small businesses, andFortune 50 companies. He will open the conference with the presentation, “Unleash Your Inner Tyrant,” showing attendees how to become better leaders by demonstrating all the things they should avoid—from creating a culture of fear and mistrust to oppressing and demoralizing employees to standing firm in the face of change. Among the takeaways: How to create a vibrant corporate culture, how to inspire trust and loyalty in employees, how to use mistakes to build strength and increase productivity, and how to approach change to achieve growth.

In a second session, “Us vs. Them,” Havens will present a laughter-filled look at the problems of managing four distinct generations in one workplace. Executives who have struggled with multi-generational management issues will leave the session with the knowledge they need to address 100% of these issues and understand the key cultural, technological, and social changes that have created a disconnect between team members of different generations.

Bryan Dodge is one of the nation’s leading communicators, delivering thousands of presentations over the past 25+ years, hosting the “Build a Better You” program on two Dallas/Fort Worth radio stations, and authoring the best-selling McGraw-Hill business book, The Good Life Rules: 8 Keys to Being Your Best at Work and at Play. His presentation will challenge leaders to take performance to the next level by conquering their fears and helping their employees overcome their inhibitions. Teaching a “stair-step method” top producers and effective leaders use to stay on the cutting edge and achieve excellence, Dodge will coach attendees on how to create consistent upward growth in their lives. Conference attendees will learn how to find and keep a good team, what truly motivates people, skills that improve team communication, and how to utilize goal setting, as well as the intangible quality that enables leaders to reach new levels of performance and how they take charge and achieve superior results in every area of their lives.

The Epicomm Experience brings together representatives of every industry segment—printing, mailing, fulfillment, and marketing—to learn from management experts, share frontline ideas with colleagues from every part of the country and every size company, and network with their peers, all in a stimulating educational environment. Created through the merger of the Association of Marketing Service Providers, National Association for Printing Leadership, and National Association of Quick Printers, Epicomm is uniquely positioned to understand the interaction of all industry disciplines.

Conference sessions and panels will address topics ranging from how to find and retain the best employees for today’s expanded service offerings and how to develop a consultative sales force to where to find opportunities for profitable growth internally and externally and how to develop and use new marketing ideas and approaches to distinguish your company from your competition. The sessions will focus on how to implement solutions and not just why to do so.

Leading companies will display their newest products and services in the Epicomm Vendor Showcase, and attendees will have ample time for networking with their peers and socializing. A full guest program offers fascinating experiences to help spouses and guests enjoy everything this beautiful area has to offer. The Hyatt Regency Savannah conference hotel, located alongside the Savannah River in the heart of the Savannah historic district, provides direct access to River Street, where restaurants, shopping, and ferries are just a short walk away.
