New Capability Enables Docutech 6180 And 6155 To Print On Coated Paper

Press release from the issuing company

June 21, 2004 -- Xerox Corporation's DocuTech PowerPlus Series enables printing on coated paper for the first time. With the new capability, the 180-ppm DocuTech 6180 and 155-ppm 6155 PowerPlus printers can produce an expanded range of short-run publishing applications on demand and more economically than ever before. Coated paper is preferred for many publishing applications because it can enhance the clarity and readability of line art, charts and photographs. Key applications include scientific, medical and technical books and journals, as well as service manuals and financial reports. The coated stock capability on the DocuTech Power Plus Series also enables customers to handle short-run jobs, which previously could only be run on offset, reducing costs and wastage. In addition to offering the option to print on selected coated stocks, the Xerox DocuTech Power Plus models offer options such as printing on larger sized sheets and feeding from an additional tray. The new coated paper capability will be available in the third quarter 2004 in North America and Europe. This represents continued investment in the DocuTech line. U.S. pricing for the DocuTech PowerPlus 6155 with Coated Stock is $418,500.
