Transcontinental Media Launches its Web Portal

Press release from the issuing company

Montreal, June 8, 2004 – Transcontinental Media, Canada's fourth-largest print media group, announced today that it has launched its Web portal: www.transcontinental-media.com. The site is produced by Transcontinental’s own Quebec City-based agency, Marcotte Multimédia, and within its four sections there are useful tools for information, promotion and reference. The main section, “Products and Services,” covers all of Transcontinental Media's magazines as well as its community newspapers (dailies, weeklies and bi-weeklies). This section is also devoted to the well-known Publi-Sac (Ad-Bag), to Transcontinental Media's other portals and websites, and to Éditions Transcontinental, which publishes business books. As well, Web users can consult the “Company Profile” section, which briefly outlines the history of Transcontinental Media and introduces its senior executives. It is complemented by the “Latest News” section, which keeps press and public alike abreast of the company’s recent developments and initiatives. A very interesting addition is the “Careers” section, a page for people who are looking for jobs in the communications field. If they see a job they like, they can apply for it and submit their résumé online, the first such service anywhere at Transcontinental Inc. “We are very proud to be launching our Web portal,” said André Préfontaine, president of Transcontinental Media. “In addition to being well designed visually, it shows how much Transcontinental Media has grown and expresses our commitment to doing an outstanding job every day. The site is a powerful tool for promoting our products and services as we position ourselves as the leader in our industry in Canada.”
