Domino Printing Sciences Expands its Canadian Team with two new Appointments

Press release from the issuing company

June 7, 2004 -- Domino Printing Sciences has appointed David Nelson as Canadian commercial printing account representative and Tara Abbott as Canadian marketing manager, operating out of its Toronto Headquarters. David will be responsible for selling Domino commercial printing (CP) solutions across the whole of Canada, the company’s largest single territory. He worked previously for Canada’s largest materials handling company, being responsible for warehouse automation in both Ontario and Eastern Canada. Although he is new to the CP industry, he is confident that this will not hinder him and is excited about his new role: “Learning about the industry whilst taking on a role that encompasses such a wide area is something of a challenge, but one that I am looking forward to taking on! I am hoping to expand the market beyond the traditional scope of Domino’s CP business in Canada, by tapping into the strategic information coming out of the rest of Domino’s worldwide operations. “I may not have a background in print, but I have a very clear understanding of sales. At the end of the day, every business needs to buy equipment to help them to stay up to date in the market place. The key it to provide them with a solution to their problem, even if they were unaware that that problem existed until now.” David has been married for 14 years and has two children. Domino’s commitment to its employees and their family life was another reason that attracted David to working for Domino. Tara Abbot will be responsible for the full marketing mix, including advertising, creating and facilitating direct marketing campaigns and implementing programs such as the Domino customer loyalty scheme. With an impressive CV that includes Xerox Canada and most recently, the role of marketing manager at Langen Packaging, Tara is amply equipped to take on the challenge of her new role. “I came to know Domino the company and its products through my role at Langen Packaging, which used Domino printers as part of its production line. I had always thought that Domino had an impressive range of solutions to offer the market and found the team to be very positive and professional to work with, so, I am delighted to now be a part of it. I am particularly excited about marketing the new Domino ON Demand printer, as I feel that this really is a solution that is going to take the market by storm.” Mike Brown, President of Domino Canada, is confident that both David and Tara will prove to be valuable assets to the company: “David was looking for a new opportunity with a broad enough scope to challenge him and taking on CP sales for Domino across the whole of Canada, should certainly offer him that challenge! He is committed and full of energy and just what we are looking for to take Domino forward. “Tara has an in-depth knowledge of marketing and of our industry and has already outlined an aggressive marketing strategy for our Canadian operation. We are looking forward to working with her to create greater awareness of our full range of solutions and to prove that we are the leading manufacturer of variable printing and coding solutions.”
