Mark Durrett Joins Bell and Howell as VP of Marketing

Brings 25 years of experience in marketing, product management 

Durham, N.C. – Ramesh Ratan, CEO of Bell and Howell, announced that the company has hired Mark Durrett as its new vice president of marketing. Based out of the company’s headquarters in Durham, Durrett will oversee Bell and Howell’s activities in demand generation, market intelligence, brand development and corporate communications. 

Durrett has more than 25 years of experience in marketing, product management and engineering leadership roles with entrepreneurial growth-stage technology companies. Most recently, he served as vice president of marketing and product management at cyber-threat intelligence startup Emerging Threats, which was acquired in 2015 by Proofpoint.

Durrett’s distinguished career also includes serving as vice president of marketing at Overture Networks, founding publisher-editor of CarrierEthernetNews.com, and global marketing co-chair of the Metro Ethernet Forum. He has designed and marketed technology solutions for industry pioneers such as Hatteras Networks (which he also co-founded), Covelight Systems, NetEdge Systems, and Wandel & Goltermann.

Durrett earned his Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering from North Carolina State University. In addition to contributing to numerous industry standards organizations, he holds a U.S. patent for a method of providing Ethernet service.
