callas pdfaPilot expands levigo jadice server for high-quality PDF/A

Press release from the issuing company

Berlin – More businesses than ever will be able to produce documents using the high-quality PDF/A format designed for long term archiving, now that callas software's pdfaPilot, a leading solution for converting and validating PDF documents, is being used to expand the functionality of levigo solutions' document conversion tool jadice. To this end, pdfaPilot is being integrated into jadice server as an add-on feature.

This step means that businesses using jadice server now have access to the same PDF/A technology used in Adobe Acrobat. As a result, they will be able to reliably convert both incoming and outgoing documents into complete, high-quality PDF/A files.

To take an example from the input side, the jadice server will process a varied range of data from incoming e-mails and their attachments, add metadata (such as ‘image attachment' or ‘Office document attachment') and consolidate all elements into a single PDF file. pdfaPilot then receives the data stream and adds all additional information required by the PDF/A standard. pdfaPilot checks the quality of incoming documents that are already in PDF format and adds any missing information where necessary. This ensures that all PDF/A documents meet the format's ISO standard.

pdfaPilot performs the same job for outgoing documents. For example, if the user wishes to send an archived document to a customer in the form of an easily readable PDF file, jadice server first converts the document from its archive format into PDF. pdfaPilot then adjusts the file as necessary to ensure that it meets the ISO standard.
