Warren, the UK’s leading independent carton and graphical board and paper stockist, has created an A5 personalised desk calendar using Stora Enso’s Lumisilk Digital, their renowned woodfree, multicoated paper and Ensocoat, their flagship board brand. 

Some 20% of the A5 desk calendars have been uniquely personalised with a customer’s first name inserted into the image. The remaining calendars were also personalised with ‘Warren’ inserted into the image, adding a further unique touch for Warren’s customers to appreciate. 

In total 1,000 calendars were printed, the aim being to demonstrate the fantastic print qualities of Stora Enso’s Ensocoat and Lumisilk.

Commenting on the unique personalised customer calendars, Kieran Ferguson, Warren’s Managing Director stated, “We wanted to give our customers a gift that was functional but also allowed us to demonstrate the capability of the premium quality products we have in our range – both paper and board. Printing the calendar both digitally and conventionally on the two Stora Enso grades, allowed us to do just that”.

PRINT PROCESS

The front cover of the A5 desktop tent card calendar was printed using LumiSilk Digital 200gsm (176 micron) and the calendar leaves were printed on 150gsm (128 micron) LumiSilk Digital, on a Xerox Versant 2100 using EFI’s Direct Smile software for personalisation. The calendar base was printed on a Komori 528 using Ensocoat 380gsm (485 micron).

ENSOCOAT

Ensocoat is Stora Enso’s flagship board crafted to meet the demands of the graphics industry and luxury packaging. Produced from responsibly sourced, certified raw materials, it serves as the industry standard for high performance and sustainability. Ensocoat is used, for example, in the production of items such as greeting cards, book covers, brochures, folders and calendars.

Its surface smoothness and printing performance have been optimised to impress even in the most demanding applications. Top-quality whiteness and UV resistance allow even more engaging briskness to be created. The strong multilayer structure of the board allows unlimited converting possibilities. 

LUMISILK

LumiSilk Digital is a wood free, multicoated silk paper and board that has been specially designed for digital printing. It is incredibly white and bright and has been created for applications where you need to print vibrant images in combination with text that demands good readability. This makes LumiSilk perfect for products such as photo and art books, catalogues and brochures.

Ensocoat is produced at Stora Enso’s Imatra mill and the Lumi range is produced at their Oulu mill, both in Finland.

Both products are Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC®) certified, meaning the materials used in their production are sourced from sustainably managed forests.

The calendars are currently being hand-delivered to Warren’s customers, and have been well received.
