X-Rite Donates Color Management Solutions to Idealliance for Its G7 Programs

i1 Calibration and ICC Profiling Tools Used at Cal Poly University and Rochester Institute of Technologies Printing Laboratories 

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – X-Rite Incorporated, a global leader in color science and technology, and its subsidiary Pantone LLC, today announced the donation of its i1 Family of color management solutions to Idealliance® for use at its partner laboratories at Cal Poly University and the Rochester Institute of Technologies. The universities are leveraging i1 calibration and ICC profiling solutions, including the new i1iSis 2, as part of Idealliance’s G7 Master and G7 Process Control Master Qualification programs.

Idealliance has processed thousands of G7 qualification submissions from print service providers through its partner evaluation laboratories at Cal Poly University and the Rochester Institute of Technologies Printing Arts Laboratory. In addition, the partners process submissions from industry leading technology companies, who submit systems to Idealliance for evaluation of conformance to the latest industry standards.

The donation and use of these devices contributes to the trust members place in the many certification programs offered by Idealliance. The X-Rite i1 color management solutions donated included:

  • i1iSis 2 – an automated chart reader for prepress/premedia, photo and pressroom color management and profiling that uses i1 spectral technology to accommodate M0, M1 and M2 measurement illumination conditions which help manage the complexities of measuring optically brightened substrates.
  • i1Pro 2 – a spectral color measurement solution offering display and projector profiling, monitor and print quality assurance and spot color measurement.
  • i1iO 2 – a hands-free test chart reading device that provides fast measurements of reflective test charts and creates custom profiles for consistent and reliable measurements.
