Up-and-Coming Execs Discuss Management Styles at PPC’s New Generation Leaders Meeting

Press release from the issuing company

SPRINGFIELD, MA - At the Paperboard Packaging Council (PPC)’s New Generation Leaders meeting (NGL) in Indianapolis, IN this past October, attendees explored a range of management styles as well as circumstances that may require changes in management style. They also discussed the concept of resiliency in meeting management challenges and each reflected on their own practice.

The NGL forum provides an opportunity for those in leadership-track positions in the folding carton industry to learn from one another, reflect on their own progress, and help each other grow. Understanding the perspectives of others and learning from those who are further down the path of leadership is another important aspect of NGL. Topics covered by the group in the past include best practices in interviewing, hiring, and managing employees; fostering organizational culture; how to set appropriate boundaries and expectations; and how to build a skilled labor force.

“Being a leader in today’s complex business environment is not easy,” said Jennie Markens, Director of New Generation Leaders at PPC. “This forum is where the leaders of tomorrow can learn how to negotiate current challenges, such as managing intergenerational relationships, inspiring employees, and leading ethically.”

The next NGL forum will take place at PPC’s Spring Meeting, April 27-29, 2016 in Miami, FL. Members interested in participating should email [email protected].
