Colter & Peterson scores at SGIA Expo with large format customers

Press release from the issuing company

Paterson, NJ – For the third consecutive year, Colter & Peterson’s industry leading paper cutting and paper handling solutions proved to be the right tonic for the SGIA Expo audience in Atlanta. Featuring several versions of its world-class Microcut® computer control systems, C&P found common ground with large format printers during last week’s event, which concluded November 6 at the Georgia World Congress Center.

“We closed on a couple of deals with some commercial and large format printers from North Carolina and Texas, and we have drafted proposals for many others this week,” exclaimed Bruce Peterson, President of Colter & Peterson. “SGIA is always a productive show for us. Microcut opens the door since it can be retrofit to any size paper cutter from 20 to 150 inches. We did demonstrations in the booth that led to selling two of our Saber® paper cutters.”

The Saber brand is the way to go for large format printers. Ranging in size from 65” to 137”, the Saber XXL and X15 Plus have established a workhorse reputation. Customers endorse the line for its productivity and reliability to cut all day long, and for how well it performs with paper, board, styrene, vinyl and corrugated material. Saber paper cutters can cleanly cut material up to six inches in height, an important benefit Peterson says that large format printers who print on 4’ x 8’ or 5’ x 10’ substrates, can take advantage of.

“Many of our customers are now printing numerous square or rectangular products with multiple images up on a large format sheet. These sheets can then either be cut one at a time using a Zund or I-Cut machine (which can take up to seven minutes per sheet), or by having a Saber cutter, they can cut 20 sheets at a time in just a few minutes and be much more productive.”

Peterson said the three different size Microcut versions on display at SGIA attracted equal attention. Microcut COLOR WS, Microcut Plus and Microcut JR have their own unique benefits, but each makes any paper cutter safer, more efficient and productive with the latest technology functions. Show visitors were impressed with the easy set-up and touchscreen control functions available for equipment operators. They also saw first-hand how quickly blades can be swapped out, and how the loadable USB device works for CIP 3/4 files with Microcut COLOR WS.
