Press release from the issuing company

Costa Mesa, CA - The 2015 Specialty Graphic Imaging Association (SGIA) Expo brought together leaders of the specialty imaging industry this year in Atlanta. In addition to a successful showcase, Colortrac and Paradigm Imaging Group were recognized in the Association's prestigious Product of the Year Competition with the 2015 Product of the Year for Large Format Scanners.

The winning large format scanner model was the Colortrac SmartLF SG scanner. The Colortrac SmartLF SG is a brand new "high productivity" large format scanner with impressive resolution, scan speeds, and design. The SmartLF SG Series scanner are perfect for capturing the vibrant, accurate colors needed by graphics professionals as well as the sharply defined line detail on technical documents and maps used in many other sectors. Available in 36″ and 44″, all SG scanner models scan monochrome at 13 inches per second (200 dpi). If you need high volume color scanning, choose the express color e model which scans color at 8 inches per second (200 dpi). The SmartLF SG large format scanner is available in three models: m (monochrome), c (color) and e (enhanced color).

Colortrac SmartLF SG Series large format scanners use CCD technology with a wide color gamut and high dynamic range and at 1200 dpi this device supports the highest optical resolution of any wide format scanner using this technology today. Employing custom white LED lighting instead of fluorescent tubes also brings big environmental benefits for SG customers in terms of zero scanner warm-up time, minimal energy consumption and the total elimination of in-life tube disposal issues.

A total of 141 entries in 38 product categories were submitted for this exclusive competition. Conducted during the 2015 SGIA Expo (Atlanta; November 4-6, 2015), this year’s event was one of the most challenging in recent history.

“We are really thrilled with the participation from exhibiting companies, and we even doubled the product categories to correctly acknowledge all of the possible technical accomplishments honored in this competition,” said Ray Weiss, SGIA’s Digital Specialist. “The award winners have been extremely enthusiastic about their wins, understanding just how competitive the field was this year.”
