Webcom Inc opens a new world of possibilities to publishers with a new HP Indigo 10000 Digital Press

Press release from the issuing company

Toronto, ON – Webcom Inc., a Toronto-based book manufacturer, is pleased to announce the acquisition of a state-of-the-art HP Indigo 10000 Digital Press. The new HP Indigo 10000 builds on Webcom’s commitment to provide publishers with leading-edge print solutions.

“Having witnessed an emerging demand from publishers for ultra-short runs including book-of-one, investing in this game-changing 29-inch digital press was a logical step,” says Mike Collinge, Webcom’s President & CEO. “The HP Indigo 10000 has opened new possibilities for publishers to cost-effectively print short runs of any size including large format educational supplements, financial publications, specialty trade books and landscape books. Publishers gain the flexibility they need to make smart print run decisions and maximize their market opportunities with fast turnarounds”.

The HP Indigo ElectroInk technology and unique digital offset process deliver print quality that is interchangeable with offset for any application with vivid and intense colour reproduction. The HP Indigo 10000 supports a wide range of paper grades, from 50 lb. text to 150 lb. cover, including coated, uncoated, recycled and specialty papers. The new digital press is also compatible with popular coatings applications.

Key benefits:

  • The 29-inch format enables highly efficient imposition of jobs and lowers the cost per copy, closing the gap between the digital and offset breakeven points.
  • Offset-level print quality and high productivity
  • Compatible with a wide range of paper grades including coated, uncoated, recycled and specialty papers
  • In-line quality automation vision system for perfect registration

The HP Indigo 10000 Digital Press has been designed with environmental sustainability in mind and features energy efficiency techniques.
