Versatile Rho 1312, Rho 312R and Rhotex 322 Deliver Innovative Output at Production Speeds

Press release from the issuing company

ATLANTA, Ga. – Large-format digital printing solutions that deliver today’s most innovative, most wanted display applications – soft signage, interior decor, fine art prints, backlit and more – efficiently and at production speeds have been brought to this week’s SGIA Expo by Durst, a world leader in production digital inkjet printing systems and a proud Platinum Sponsor of the SGIA Expo.

A high-productivity Rho 1312 hybrid printer; a versatile, precision-printing Rho 312R roll printer; and a workhorse, environmentally friendly Rhotex 322 soft-signage printer are featured in Durst’s SGIA booth (#2927).  Attendees also are finding detailed product and applications information, image samples, and knowledgeable Durst experts who can explain the significant opportunities these printers create for print providers to help their businesses grow.

“The ability to respond quickly and completely to a client’s request for the latest head-turning display or décor output is the biggest challenge print providers face today,” said Terry Amerine, Director of Product Marketing for Durst U.S.  “Which is why the Durst printers we have on display at SGIA Expo are the most versatile, flexible, and capable we’ve ever manufactured.”

Also at SGIA Expo, the second segment of Durst’s “RETAIL 2020: The Brands’ Perspective of the Future” Series features three senior marketing managers from fashion apparel retailer ANN INC.  The 90-minute event – titled “Future Forward” – begins at 8:00 a.m. today in Room B310 of Atlanta’s World Congress Center.  At each session, brand managers and other influential “end users” of print services are invited to provide their points of view and a rich client/vendor dialogue is achieved.

For the news media and industry analysts attending SGIA Expo, Durst is conducting a press conference at 1:30 p.m. today in Room B205 of the World Congress Center.  Amerine will be joined by Ricardo Leni, Director of Sales for Durst U.S., to discuss Durst’s current product portfolio and product development initiatives, and to field questions.

Rho 1312

The 98-inch (250 cm) Rho 1312, which prints up to 6,600 s.f./hr., offers improved image quality, increased reliability during printing, and unparalleled media handling flexibility, particularly with difficult and heat-sensitive media.  Durst's Quadro Array print head technology, applying very small droplets of only 12 picolitres, enables a very high printing speed without compromising quality of the output.  Images are crisp, clear and visually striking.  The 1312 also incorporates “Gradual Flow Printing” for smoother tones over large areas and a high gloss finish, even at the highest speeds.

Rho 312R

The three-meter (10.5-foot) Rho 312R is equipped with Durst’s high-performance 12-picoliter Quadro™ Array print head technology – complete with the company’s Variodrop and grayscale innovations.  In backlit mode it outputs extremely high image quality for backlit applications on a variety of films and textiles.  Image quality effectively rivals Lambda output, according to Durst.  Output speeds go as high as 2,500 s.f./hr., with quality production mode at about 1,300 s.f./hr. and backlit mode at 750 s.f./hr.  The Rho 312R uses the full range of Durst inks, including Process Color Additions (orange, violet).  Workflow options include an integrated border cutting system, simultaneous dual (1.6m / 5.25 ft.) roll printing, and double-sided printing.

Rhotex 322

The 126-inch Rhotex 322 is the most productive soft signage industrial inkjet printer available.  Its exceptional print quality, based on a drop size of 7-21 picolitres, is not compromised by speed.  Designed for printing textiles for use in the home, wall coverings, domestic textiles and interior design, as well as fashion applications, the Rhotex 322 is the ideal solution to digital printing of the widest range of soft signage.  Polyester fabrics printed with Rhotex water based dispersed dye inks are entirely environmentally friendly, recyclable and disposable.

“Our large-format digital printers are known for image quality, productivity, efficient workflow and reliability,” Amerine said.  “Having the Rho 1312, Rho 312R and Rhotex 322 in one place allows us to demonstrate just how responsive Durst printers are when it comes to satisfying today’s most demanding applications.”
