It is with great pleasure that we award them these scholarships.” In his application, Chinai of King Printing, a book manufacturer with 100 employees, noted that attending the Institute would give him “an edge” by helping him to “learn the theory behind what I see. . .I know this training will open my eyes to fresh and innovative ideas that I can implement in real-time in managing my print shop.” Thiem, who has enjoyed a successful tenure at Berlin Industries since joining the commercial printing company in 1997, views the Institute as a valuable “opportunity to join an elite group of educators who can provide me with valuable information and teachings that will help me excel in the career I have chosen.” Competition for the MAN Roland scholarships, which provide full tuition for the Management & Leadership Institute ($1,995 for NAPL and PIA/GATF members) and a $500 accommodations stipend, was open to employees of member companies of NAPL and PIA/GATF.
