Bluemedia President Jared Smith Speaks at Color 2015

Press release from the issuing company

Warrendale, Pennsylvania - Printing Industries of America (PIA) proudly announces Jared Smith, president, bluemedia, will kick off day two of Color 2015, the premier event for brand and color management professionals in the United States. Smith presents Color by the Mile… Literally! on Monday, Dec. 7, and shares what it takes to support high-profile clients like the NFL and how bluemedia wrapped part of the city of Phoenix with massive signage for Superbowl XLIX.

As one of the nation’s leading large-format signage companies, bluemedia deals with extraordinary color requests every day. Although they don’t print large quantities of anything, they do get orders for one copy that is 100,000 square feet, a piece that 100 million people will see, a sign that is 500 feet tall or 1,000 feet wide, another edition that’s legible at 330 MPH, or even one message that needs to look good at below freezing temperatures or over 600 degrees Fahrenheit.

In his keynote speech, Jared will discuss building a business case for selling projects of one piece as well as advice on how to work with major brands. “Brand accuracy for us starts by taking steps to ensure we understand the brand first. This means we ask for style guides, branding guidelines, messaging rules, and Pantone colors very early in the process. We go a step further to research the brand and look at specific examples of how the brand is positioned currently,” said Smith.

“I’m very excited to have Jared with us for Color 2015,” said Julie Shaffer, vice president, Digital Strategies, PIA and Color 2015 program manager. “Inkjet printing technology is a huge part of the future for the print and signage industries, and I know the bluemedia story is one our audience needs to hear.”

Smith brings more than 20 years of industry experience in graphics, printing, and signage to the conference and joins the growing list of knowledgeable speakers lined up for Color 2015. To learn more about this year’s speakers and sessions, visit www.printing.org/color.

Color 2015 will take place on December 5–8 at the Pointe Hilton Squaw Peak in Phoenix, AZ. Register today to save your spot and qualify for our early-bird rates.
