Cerm Inspires Collaboration Beyond MIS at Labelexpo

Press release from the issuing company

Launching new Quick Quote module, updates on digital shopfront Web4Labels and announcing new industry partnerships

Bruges, Belgium – On booth 6A42 at Labelexpo, Cerm will demonstrate that their solution is more than MIS and provides complete business management and automation solutions for the narrow web printing industry. During the event, Cerm will introduce significant product updates that further streamline the production & planning processes, including: a completely new and smart Quick Quote module, new automation features, and many features on the digital shopfront Web4Labels. Furthermore, Cerm will also show how the value of their solution is extended by new partnerships with Gallus, AVT, Screen, AB Graphic and Chili Publish, as well as partnerships with long-standing industry partners like Xeikon, ESKO, and HP.

Geert Van Damme, Managing Director at Cerm, explains the new approach and branding: “Inspiring collaboration is not just a slogan or tagline for us! Our solution truly improves collaboration between all co-workers, from the production manager, stock controller to the accountant and general manager. This increases our customer’s efficiency and overall productivity, leaving time to focus on their core business. From our side, we also get inspired by our customers and collaborate very closely with them. We actively listen to their needs and develop the solutions and partnerships that actually meet their specific requirements and contribute to their success.”

Delivering as promised: new modules and updates

Peter Dhondt, Head Business Development and Sales at Cerm, notes, “We have a mission at Cerm which says ‘Deliver as promised.’ For over 30 years, Cerm has been doing just that: developing and delivering comprehensive solutions for the label community around the world. Our strong industry experience - and our commitment to our customers – continues to drive our innovation, and ensures we can meet the demands of the market today and in the future.”

At Labelexpo, Cerm will be highlighting several new and important solution updates:

  • A smart and brand new Quick Quote module is now available in the backoffice and on the online portal. Quick Quote gives users a faster way to submit quotes, so printers can be more competitive and capture business faster.
  • New tools like estimating tenders and extended estimating features are now included in the Estimating module. These features help narrow web label and flexible packaging printers improve the planning and budgeting of jobs.
  • The digital shopfront Web4Labels has been updated with new tools for quick online estimating, RFQ’s, online editing of SKU's, and online ordering. These features streamline the estimating and ordering process and open new possibilities for Web-2-Print.
  • New automation features have also been added to enable a no-click-workflow from web ordering straight onto the digital press. This feature gets labels into production faster with less possibility of error.

New partnerships at Labelexpo

For years, Cerm has been committed to working with industry leaders to create an end-to-end solution that supports customer requirements.

At Labelexpo, Cerm will unveil new partnerships that continue their tradition of collaboration.  Cerm’s solutions will be shown on the stands of these industry leaders:

  • Gallus (5B28/5C31)
  • AVT (9C05)
  • Screen (9B30)
  • AB Graphic (6A37)
  • CHILI Publish (4C65)

Cerm will also be represented on the booth of existing partners HP Indigo (patio.

More than MIS

At the heart of Cerm’s solution are eight specific modules, each supporting a critical step in the printer’s integrated workflow - from estimating over to shop floor data collection to invoicing. Connecting these modules provides the narrow web printer with a way to go beyond just MIS and enable the management and automation of their business.

The modules are part of three product categories:

shopfront

Web4Labels is an all-in-one digital shopfront for online quoting and managing of assets, providing a critical online resource that lets sales people and end-customers order labels and get quotes remotely.

shopfloor

Insight into operations, including capacity per machine and how to optimize machines to reduce change-over times. Stock, inventory and raw material data is also available, as well as crucial details for shipping.

backoffice

Cerm backoffice includes specific solutions to relieve the practical problems that come from printing a larger number of different products with smaller print runs. Produced quantities and shipping information is taken from the shopfloor to generate shipping notes and invoices.

The printer can choose the modules that meet their needs today, then add more as their business grows.

Geert Van Damme, Managing Director at Cerm, concludes: “At Cerm, we are committed to developing and delivering solutions that enable our customers to meet the challenges faced by all printers across the narrow web printing industry. But we also realize that each printer faces obstacles and opportunities that are unique to their business.  Cerm meets both sets of challenges. We go beyond MIS, and provide narrow web label and flexible packaging printers with customizable modules they can use to connect specific areas of their business into one comprehensive business management solution.”
