Cavanaugh Press Selects the HP Indigo 10000 Digital Press to Increase Production Efficiency

Press release from the issuing company

Baltimore, Maryland-based Cavanaugh Press, a privately owned and operated print, digital data and direct mail company with more than 50 years in the industry, purchased the B2-format HP Indigo 10000 Digital Press at Graph Expo 2015 to increase production efficiency and versatility and differentiate itself from competition in the mid-Atlantic region.

The HP Indigo 10000 Digital Press is the company’s second substantial technology investment this year, following its installation of the HP Indigo 7800 Digital Press in July. The HP Indigo 7800 Digital Press has enabled the company to grow one of its largest customers’ businesses more than 10 fold, and Cavanaugh Press anticipates that the HP Indigo 10000 Digital Press will provide its customers even more growth opportunities through high-quality, eye-catching applications enabled by the larger format.

“The HP Indigo 10000 Digital Press’ quality and total solution is better than conventional printing technology, and armed with this press, we have more tools and capabilities to offer our customers than with any other device in the market,” said Robert Atwell, president, Cavanaugh Press. “There is digital, and then there is Indigo; we use can use our HP Indigo digital printing technology for anything without constraints. HP is the complete source, offering color support, sales support, service and understanding of digital print like no other.”

Cavanaugh Press anticipates transitioning 40 to 60 percent of jobs that are currently run on its 40-inch, six-color sheet-fed press to the HP Indigo 10000 Digital Press to deliver short to medium runs more economically and will rely on HP SmartStream workflow solutions to further streamline its digital production schedule.

The HP Indigo 10000 Digital Press produces virtually any commercial job with proven quality, substrate versatility and production flexibility. This robust press is an easy fit for offset print service providers, printing large volumes of high-value pages and a wide variety of applications. With its 29-inch format and built-in duplex mechanism, the press makes it possible to digitally print any size application, including pocket folders, six-page brochures, posters and large lay-flat books. Enabled by HP Indigo’s liquid ElectroInk technology, the press provides a wide digital color gamut with up to seven ink stations.
