INX International mourns loss of Paolo Capano

Press release from the issuing company

San Leandro, CA – Employees of INX International Ink Company are mourning the loss of Paolo Capano, Managing Director of INX Digital Italy. Mr. Capano, 50, died unexpectedly on September 15 and was remembered today at a memorial service in Cermenate, Italy that was attended by his family and many friends and colleagues. He is survived by his wife, Rosy Carinetti, son Tommaso Capano, and daughter Gaia Capano.

Mr. Capano officially joined INX in 2010 but was associated with the company for many years previously when he owned Anteprima, a fabrics company that he established in 1997. Members of the INX team connected with him in 2002 when Anteprima was selected as the master distributor of TRIANGLE® ink products for the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region. INX later acquired Anteprima in 2010.

Rick Clendenning, President and CEO of INX International Ink Co., remembers Mr. Capano as more of a trusted friend than a business partner.

“Paolo’s unexpected and premature passing is definitely very unfair. He was a devoted husband and father, loved by everyone who knew him. His passion for his work and dedication to his customers and colleagues were unmatched by anyone. Everyone at INX and the entire Sakata INX group of companies will miss our good friend tremendously. He was truly one of a kind.”

As much as he was known throughout the industry and European business community for his knowledge of designing and fabrics, Mr. Capano also had a keen knack for food and cooking. He designed the family home himself, with the kitchen serving as a centerpiece where he entertained friends and often cooked four course meals.

Susie Mendelssohn, North American Sales Manager and International Marketing Manager for INX Digital, considered Paolo to be a close friend for 13 years.

“The important thing about Paolo is that no matter how you knew him, you were considered a friend. You were not a colleague, a customer or a business partner; you were simply a friend. Paolo was such a dynamic, passionate man, and he carried that through in every aspect of his life. When he was in a room, you knew it. I believe anyone who knew Paolo felt privileged to know him.”

Stefano Rogora, INX Digital Italy’s EMEA Marketing Supervisor, worked closely with Paolo since 2001.

“Paolo was a mentor and pillar to many; even those who didn’t like him as much found themselves following his guidance. I could write a book about Paolo and tell stories using thousands of words. But maybe it is enough to simply say that I loved him like a father and he will remain in my heart for the rest of my life. Rest in peace.”
