MCT, Inc. announces new VersaTech™ digital die-cutting system automation features at SGIA 2015

Press release from the issuing company

Milwaukee, WI – MCT’s VersaTech digital finishing system solutions continue to grow with the introduction of its new pallet-based sheet feeding capability.  At SGIA, MCT will demonstrate its new sheet feeder for all types of rigid and semi-rigid sheet materials.

The new solution is essentially the 4th evolution of sheet feeder design based on the work previously done by the management team at MGE, Inc.  In developing this version we wanted to ensure that the design was both simple and robust, that it could handle the widest variety of substrates, that pallets could be loaded from 3 sides and that essentially the same design could be used for both the 1.6 meter wide VersaTech tables and the 3.2 meter wide tables. All these objectives were accomplished.

Nikolai Mikkelsen, MCT’s President and CTO says that “As grand format printing solutions become faster and faster, the bottleneck in digital finishing has been exploding. With the advent of the VersaTech multi-material capabilities, it became necessary for MCT to deliver full automation paths with their significant productivity enhancements for both the motorized fabric roll capability, shown previously, and now for sheet materials. MCT’s VersaTech can now handle digital cutting/finishing automation for anything that can be printed on by a grand format printer.”

At SGIA, MCT will be showing 2 fully configured 3.2 meter finishing systems.  The first features a 100 watt sealed CO2 laser cutting rolls of fabric using MCT’s proprietary removable aluminum laser belt and motorized roll handling capabilities.  The second features traditional knife and routing cutting with MCT’s new automatic pallet-based sheet feeder. MCT’s uniqueness is that each system is capable of processing all the different substrate finishing tasks that a wide format print shop (PSP) requires. See us at SGIA Booth 3845.
