Hubergroup Celebrates 250 Years, Earliest Printing Ink Manufacturer

Press release from the issuing company

Official anniversary celebrations in October

Kirchheim near Munich, Germany, ? In 1765, Mathias Mittermayr received the permit from the electoral court in Munich to sell the inks Vienna Varnish, Prussian Blue, Carmine Red and some Yellows in Germany and abroad. This document is proof for the earliest, still operating printing ink maker, named after the grandson Michael Huber. With its quick maturing into a strong industrial production company, and developing in the prevalent trend of globalisation, it operates as hubergroup today. The company's management takes this 250th anniversary as an opportunity to look back at the success story of the family business and to thank the employees for their commitment and the shareholders for their support.

On October 22, 2015 the official ceremony is placed in the Hofbräukeller in Munich, not far from where it all began. More than 200 international guests are expected, including representatives from politics and business, shareholders and members of the founding family. Among the speakers are Dieter Reiter, Mayor of Munich, and Dirk Ippen, Publisher. The festivities will take place at the very close of the first company headquarters in Munich-Haidhausen. It was not until 1965, the premises became too small and the facility was moved to Kirchheim into new buildings east of the city.

"We are very proud of our long tradition", says Ulla Borgmann, member of the Management Board. "We are the 'living proof', that despite all political and economic turbulences within these 250 years successful business can be maintained. We feel the obligation against our shareholders and employees to sustain the success through well-defined strategies that fit to the continuously changing market conditions".

Already on September 29, the actual founding date, all employees in all the groups companies will be invited to lunch to enjoy a free afternoon with an entertaining program.
