Ripon Printers Wins Three Gold Ink Awards

Press release from the issuing company

The Gold Ink Awards, considered among the industry's most prestigious print contests, honored Ripon Printers with multiple awards in the 2015 competition. Hosted by North American Publishing and Printing Impressions, a panel of distinguished graphic arts professionals judged entries in nearly 50 categories over four days. Although not a design competition, judges are encouraged to analyze how design has influenced the production decisions made for each entry. This year’s competition attracted more than 1,000 entries from a wide range of creators and producers of print materials.

Ripon Printers received a silver award in the Digital Printing, Calendars category for Celtic Spirit 2015. Ripon also received two pewter awards, one in the Digital Printing, Photo Books category for TREK Inspirational Travel – Moscow and the other in the Magazines, Event Programs for 2014 Special Olympics USA Games.

Earlier in the year, Ripon also received several honors in the 2015 Graphic Excellence Awards. The competition recognizes superb craftsmanship in the design, creation and production of top-quality printed materials. Sponsored by the Great Lakes Graphics Association (GLGA), printing and finishing companies throughout Indiana, Illinois and Wisconsin enter the contest each year.

Ripon Printers captured one Best of Division and two Best of Category Awards. “Profire Grills” by Everglow Gas Lamps & Torches won Best of Division 5 honors for Brochures and Broadsides (4 or more colors).

The first Best of Category winner was “Wisconsin in Print 2015,” published by University of Wisconsin Press.  The category encompassed Web Press Printing, Uncoated Paper (4 or more colors) Coldset. Winner of the second Best of Category award was “UCC Aluminum Electrolytic Capacitors,” a piece produced by Marketing & Print Services. The victory came in the Web Press Printing, Coated or Uncoated Paper (1, 2 or3 colors) category.

“Year after year, our outstanding craftspeople are able to demonstrate their ability to produce quality work that competes on a national stage with the best companies in the graphic arts industry,” says Andy Lyke, president and CEO of Ripon Printers. “We especially appreciate the creativity of our customers and their trust in us to execute at the highest level.”
