KPG Expands DI Solutions With The KPG Directpress 5334 DI System

Press release from the issuing company

Düsseldorf, Germany - Stand 5D24: Kodak Polychrome Graphics today announced the latest addition to its line of direct imaging presses, the KPG DirectPress 5334 DI system. Prior to drupa, KPG had marketed a single DI press, the DirectPress 5034 DI system. At drupa, KPG showed the newest addition to its DI portfolio with the DirectPress 5634 DI system. This new product leverages the automation capabilities of the DirectPress 5034 press and adds incremental imaging capabilities. The third product in the KPG DI portfolio, the DirectPress 5334 DI system is designed for customers with lower production requirements. Both the DirectPress 5334 and DirectPress 5634 systems offer outstanding four-color print quality by supporting 16-micron spot diameters for FM stochastic screening and high line AM and hybrid screening. All three systems also feature enhanced efficiency through the new Kodak Polychrome Graphics DirectWorks, KPG's first workflow software. "The introduction of this third direct imaging press reflects KPG's commitment to continually expanding and enhancing our digital output solutions," said John Schloff, Staff Vice President, Digital Printing and Color, KPG. "The DirectPress 5334 DI system brings the benefits of direct imaging offset printing – exceptional color quality and very fast turn around times – to even more customers. The range of features and functions across KPG’s three DI presses allows customers to select the system that best matches their production requirements and business objectives." Orders for the DirectPress 5034 DI press and the DirectPress 5634 DI system are being taken immediately. Availability of the DirectPress 5334 DI system will begin in late 2004.
