Caribbean Newspaper improves register with ProImage Press Register

Press release from the issuing company

Princeton, NJ - The Dominican Republic’s largest circulation newspaper, Diario Libre in Santo Domingo, recently installed ProImage NewsWay Press Register for their existing 6 press towers to improve register and print quality.

In the past, the paper was struggling with ongoing press registration problems and thus spent an average of 15 min. per print job getting the registration right. Nevertheless advertisers, readers and the paper themselves were not always pleased with the outcome.

After the installation of ProImage NewsWay Press Register System, Elius Gomez, Production Manager at Grupo Diario Libre raves about the significant improvements in register and quality of the paper. In addition, the ease of use of the software as well as it capabilities and benefits impressed the paper’s management.

NewsWay Press Register corrects registration issues without the need to touch or modify the press. It can resize, rotate, mirror and shift the image in precise increments prior to being exposed onto the plate. Removing the need for mechanical adjustment on the press provides faster make ready resulting in significant time and money savings as well as greatly improves advertiser customer satisfaction and eliminate the need to run make-good (replacement) ads.

Now, Grupo Diario Libre is able to adjust even multi-plate cylinder configuration and can correct nonlinearity along the cylinder circumference. Even a specified area within the printed image can now easily be aligned.

Production of higher quality jobs, less press stops due to registration and extended press parts life span allows for a quick ROI for the Caribbean newspaper.

“We would have purchased the software a long time ago if we had known about it before. Our printing process has been divided in two eras: before and after Press Register”, raves Elius Gomez.
NewsWay Press Register also comes with a digital microscope to accurately measure the amount of scaling required for perfect registration.
