Press release from the issuing company

Reston, VA NPES The Association for Suppliers of Printing, Publishing and Converting Technologies will sponsor a half-day educational conference, "Printed Packaging: Present and Future in Brazil," on August 6, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Senai School José Mindlin Ephim in Barueri, Brazil, a not-for-profit professional secondary school. The conference presented by NPES in partnership with ANconsulting and APS Feiras & Eventos will bring together Brazilian print leaders—representing carton, flexible and label printing and packaging—who will examine the future outlook for these business sectors in the highly competitive and rapidly changing Brazilian marketplace.

Focusing specifically on Brazil's unique business challenges and opportunities, the PRIMIR study, "Packaging in Emerging Markets," which will be presented by Hamilton Costa, NPES Latin America Director and President of ANconsulting, will provide the main discussion topic throughout the conference program. In addition, three panels representing areas addressed in the study will discuss cardboard, flexible packaging, and packaging and digitally printed labels. The panels will feature representatives from Brazilian packaging and printing companies, including: Congraf, Embalagens Santa Inês, Grafica Romiti, Papeis Amália, Escala 7 and Alphacolor, among others. More than 150 industry leaders are expected to participate in these educational sessions with conference registrations to date reflecting the great interest in this topic.

"This educational program in Brazil is both timely and important," states NPES President Ralph Nappi. "The printing industry in Brazil, and packaging in particular, is expected to undergo major transformation and growth. Working with our Brazilian partners offers valuable business opportunities for NPES members and the regional marketplace."

Along with sponsoring companies HP and AGFA, the program is also supported by Associação Brasileira Técnica de Flexografia [Brazilian Flexographic Technical Association] (ABFLEXO); Associação Brasileira da Indústria Gráfica Regional São Paulo [Brazilian Association of Industrial Graphics in São Paulo] (ABIGRAF-SP); Associação dos Agentes de Fornecedores de Equipamentos e Insumos para a Indústria Gráfica [Association of Manufacturers and Agents for Equipment and Supplies for the Brazilian Graphic Industry] (AFEIGRAF); Serviço Nacional de Aprendizagem Industrial [Network of not-for-profit secondary-level professional schools] (SENAI); EXPOPRINT Latin America 2018; and, EXPOPRINT DIGITAL.

The upcoming conference in Brazil follows on the success of recent educational programs conducted by NPES in India, another region experiencing significant transformation and growth.
