Association Partners with Georgia power to Demonstrate Productivity and Financial Benefits of Energy-Efficient UV and EB Surface Curing

Bethesda, MD – RadTech, the Association for Ultraviolet (UV) and Electron Beam (EB) Technology, announces a new conference that explores the continued emergence of UV and EB technologies used in curing applications. The program, The UV/EB Surface Curing Workshop, will take place on September 10, 2015, at the Georgia Power – A Southern Company’s Customer Resource Center (CRC) in Dunwoody, GA, a suburb of Atlanta.

The day’s events include overviews of UV and EB technologies’ processes, equipment and applications; an analysis of the basics of UV, UV LED and EB chemistry; adhesive applications for UV and EB; differences between UV and EB curable inks; real-world UV and EB user case studies; and will conclude with a series of hands-on technology equipment demonstrations.

A noteworthy aspect of this workshop will be attendees’ opportunity to work with both UV and EB equipment.  While UV equipment is relatively common, EB equipment is rarely available to the public.  However,  Georgia Power has just installed a fully operational ebeam laboratory unit. UV equipment will be also demonstrated at the event.  “This unique workshop offers a great opportunity for companies and institutions alike to obtain first-hand experience with both UV and EB technology,” noted Peter Weissman, Quaker Chemical Corp., and RadTech President.  “We are excited about the opportunity to partner with Georgia Power to demonstrate the benefits of UV and EB.”
