Totalpost Expand with Significant Purchase in the Cartridge Industry

Press release from the issuing company

Leading mailroom consumables, equipment, solutions and maintenance provider Totalpost Services Plc, has purchased the business assets of Cartridge Remanufacturing Technology Ltd (CRT).

This is a significant move which will allow Totalpost to increase the volume and type of remanufactured cartridge and toner they produce. Additionally Totalpost will now be able to further grow their market share in Europe and beyond by providing a wider cartridge variety to their already established international office and dealer presence.

Totalpost has long been a significant player in the manufacture and supply of high quality remanufactured franking machine cartridges to worldwide markets. The purchase of these assets from CRT will enable Totalpost to bring their manufacturing expertise to a wider market which will include printer ink cartridges and soon, a new range of toner cartridges.

As part of the assets package Totalpost will also be taking over the exclusive UK and Ireland dealership for Swiss manufacturer CBR Engineering’s equipment technology. CBR are a highly experienced manufacturer of  cartridge and a provider of specialist metering technology which allows for the provision of an inkjet filling service in cartridge and refill shops.

Talking about the move, Managing Director of Totalpost David Hymers comments: “The CRT assets enhance growth of our inkjet supply business and enable us to offer a wider range of trade services to the inkjet remanufacturing sector. We are pleased to be able to support the industry with the most reliable CBR remanufacturing technology and CRT’s proprietary range of cleaning solutions. We will initially be focusing our production efforts on the most popular and hard to obtain cartridges of which we are seeing a demand for from our worldwide markets.”

CRT, based in Alford, Lincolnshire are a well known cartridge remanufacturer and this deal comes about following Andy Mayfield’s  (the owner of CRT) announcement in May this year that he was retiring from the remanufacturing industry. Mayfield will be staying on for some months to assist Totalpost with the transition.

Totalpost will now be increasing their recycling programme as this move will allow them to set up a collections programme for a broad range of cartridges.

Speaking about the deal Andy Mayfield says: “I am really pleased that the business is going to Totalpost, who have exciting plans to expand this segment of their business and better support the inkjet remanufacturing industry.”

Fredy Gass, CEO at CBR Engineering, added: “I would like to thank Andy for his hard work and commitment to supporting CBR over the many years we have collaborated together, and I wish him well in his new entertainment and consulting career and look forward to working with David, Bruce and the Totalpost team on future projects.”
