Roland DG’s SRP Player CAM Software is Now Compatible with the monoFab SRM-20 Desktop Milling Machine

Monday, July 06, 2015

Press release from the issuing company

Hamamatsu, Japan - Roland DG Corporation, a leading worldwide manufacturer of wide-format inkjet printers and 3D devices, announced today that its SRP Player CAM software is now compatible with the Roland DG monoFab SRM-20 desktop milling machine.

With this new compatibility, SRP Player CAM software, which is currently bundled with other high-end Roland DG 3D milling machines such as the MODELA MDX-40A and MODELA PRO II MDX-540/540S, will come standard with the SRM-20 as well. This software, while extremely advanced, is also incredibly user friendly. It allows all operators – from novices to seasoned professionals – to use Roland DG’s state-of-the-art milling machines with ease and precision. SRP Player CAM software simplifies everything from reading 3D CAD data to setting milling requirements. It enables users to generate optimized tool path data by simply inputting information according to step-by-step instructions displayed on the screen.

In addition to allowing for faster tool path generation, SRP Player offers other advantages over MODELA Player 4 - the software that has been used with the SRM-20 up until this point. SRP Player includes special features that support double-sided milling, as well as preview capabilities that enable the user to quickly and easily check fine details before cutting, therefore ensuring that deliverables come out exactly as intended.

SRP Player is available for download at Roland OnSupport, Roland DG’s online customer support system. Customers who are already using the SRM-20 desktop milling machine can also install and use SRP Player from Roland OnSupport free of charge.

Roland DG launched the monoFab series, which includes the SRM-20 desktop milling machine and ARM-10 3D printer, in September 2014 as Roland DG’s answer to digital desktop fabrication solutions. With a culmination of more than 25 years of Roland DG experience in the design and production of 3D rapid prototyping devices, the series combines the benefits of both subtractive and additive systems. Those devices are being widely used not only by product designers and engineers, but also by educators, students and hobbyists around the world.
