Baumfolder Supports SKILLS USA 2015 National Graphics Communications Competition and Conference

Press release from the issuing company

Sidney, OH - Baumfolder Corporation recently participated with BAUM equipment and personnel in support of the annual, national  SKILLS USA Graphics Communications competition. SKILLS USA is a national organization serving high-school and post-secondary students who are preparing for careers in various vocations in technical, skilled, and service occupations. Baumfolder Corporation provided the latest in folding and cutting equipment with three BAUM 714XLT Ultrafold tabletop paper folding machines and one BaumCut guillotine paper cutter to be used for the finishing portion of the competition. The competition involved eight parts which included: digital press, digital workflow, electronic prepress, finishing, offset press operations, oral professional assessment, production planning and technical knowledge test. In addition to providing support for the SKILLS USA national competition, Baumfolder Corporation also serves on the Technical Advisory Committee for the Graphics Communications program for SKILLS USA.

SKILLS USA National competition was held this year for the first time in Louisville, KY on June 22-26 at the Kentucky Exhibition Center. Graphics Communications was just one of the competitions for selecting the national champion from all participating states. SKILLS USA is supported by many major companies across the United States with equipment and industry experts that directly evaluate student performance and converse with their instructors on the continued changes in business today and for the future. These major companies for the SKILLS USA Graphics Communications program included equipment and software competitors and large printing companies that all worked together for the support of the future of this industry at this event.

“The continued changes in graphic communications industry and the education and training needed for the future workforce are supported well by the  SKILLS USA programs” stated Mark Pellman New Business Development Manager for Baumfolder Corporation. “Baumfolder has been a proud sponsor of SKILLS USA at the local, state and National levels for many years.”

For the first time ever, SKILLS USA, Baumfolder and other industry partners will bring the Industry Supporting Its Future Workforce booth to this year’s GRAPH EXPO’s Education Main Street with a goal to encourage the youth to consider the graphic communications and printing industry as a career choice.
