What does a mixed martial arts athlete, a boxer and a primary school athletics team have in common? The direct mail fulfilment company is known for being supportive of local talent, and this is emphasised by their sponsorship of Birmingham-based Martial Arts athlete Tom Breese, along with local Boxer Ryan ‘Tank’ Aston, and the Whitmore Park Primary School Athletics team. 

Birmingham born Martial artist Tom ‘Fearless’ Breese recently made his UFC debut, celebrating with an impressive win in the first round of his fight against Luiz Dutra.  Twenty-three year old Tom is a BJJ Purple Belt holder, a former British Junior Freestyle Wrestling champion and was the BAMMA British Welterweight Champion in professional MMA.

Commenting on his debut win, Tom said, “I’m happy to get the win and another finish. I will go back to the gym and work hard to improve my skill set.”

Twenty-four year old Ryan ‘Tank’ Aston is a local professional boxer currently fighting at light middleweight. Boxing since the age of eight, Ryan’s talents were quickly spotted and during his amateur career he accumulated four national titles, three gold and two silver medals boxing for England and three gold and one silver fighting for Team GB, before turning professional.

Ryan’s latest professional fight was against Jason Welborn for the Midland Area Middleweight Title at Wolverhampton Civic on 6^th June, which he sadly lost on a point’s decision. 

Coventry-based Whitmore Park Primary School runs an after-school athletics team, where the children can take part in a variety of different events including running, jumping and throwing. All the athletics sessions are based around the sports hall athletic competition which the school enters each year. Baker Goodchild is sponsoring their 30 team members throughout the year. The team is run by Jon Openshaw, Joy Davies and Hannah Richards.
