Mutoh America Donates Dye Sublimation Printer to SGIA

Press release from the issuing company

Educational workshops and materials testing benefit from the ValueJet 1624W

Fairfax, Virginia - Mutoh America Inc. (SGIA member since 1991) has temporarily donated their ValueJet 1624W 64-inch textile/sublimation printer to SGIA for use in training workshops and within the Association’s Technical Services Department for testing materials, inks and papers.

“As a longtime member, Mutoh is happy to be working with SGIA to support their educational training efforts,” said Brian Phipps, Vice President and General Manager, Mutoh America, Inc. “Being able to support SGIA by loaning the ValueJet 1624W dye sublimation printer for their training facility is a great opportunity to further their work on education for the marketplace, as well as our own.”

After supporting SGIA’s Operation Sublimation, Mission: Wide-Format Graphics workshop at the beginning of June, the ValueJet 1624W will assist in the upcoming Color Management Boot Camp (August 25–27) and Operation Sublimation, Mission: Garment (September 23–24) workshops at SGIA’s state-of-the-art laboratory in Fairfax, Virginia. Thanks to Mutoh America, attendees of both workshops will learn new digital printing technologies using advanced equipment.

“I am thrilled to have the Mutoh ValueJet available for our workshops and as a resource in our testing of specialty imaging materials,” said Ray Weiss, Digital Imaging Specialist, SGIA.
