Sappi launches Life with Print in Europe

Tuesday, May 11, 2004

Press release from the issuing company

06 May 2004 -- Brussels - Sappi Fine Paper Europe is taking the opportunity at Drupa to launch 'Life with Print', a new programme that promotes the efficiency and importance of print – advertising, direct mail, brochures and catalogues - in effective brand promotion. As a result Sappi presents two 'Life in Print' brochures that highlight American and European examples of the value of print in the media mix. They aim to increase the understanding among advertisers and marketing professionals of the vital role print can play in building brands. These publications also build on the Sappi Print Media Efficiency Award announced last year. The award, currently being judged as part of the Euro-Effie Awards, is based on demonstrating the efficiency of a European advertising or promotional campaign with particular emphasis on the integration of print media. "Despite all predictions that the 21st century would see print swamped by the electronic media, today print continues to play a valuable role in our everyday lives and is more powerful than ever before," said Sappi Fine Paper Europe CEO, Wolfgang Pfarl at the Sappi Printer of the Year awards near Düsseldorf on 05 May 2004. "We believe that by providing high quality paper with excellent print results, the publishers, printers and ourselves can convince the world that print is the most tangible, portable, creative and efficient medium for advertising and promotion. 'Life with Print' is part of this process." Copies of 'Life in Print' are available from www.sappi.com/LifewithPrint and Sappi sales offices.
