Press release from the issuing company

DÜSSELDORF, May 6, 2004 — Jetrion LLC, a leading global provider of advanced products, services and specialized solutions for industrial inkjet applications, and a separate business unit of Flint Ink, introduces two new user-friendly advanced systems for high-performance inkjet production at drupa (Hall 3, Stand E52). The Jetrion 2300 Inkjet System and the Jetrion Bindery Manager incorporate Jetrion's innovative technologies, representing a fusion of ink, hardware and solutions that meet the requirements of printers, converters, packagers and direct mailers for more efficient inkjet production and higher quality results. Both systems help put the user in control of the printing environment through the use of network-capable printers and printer management devices. Commenting on the new offerings, Dr. Kenneth Stack, president of Jetrion, said, "With inkjet technology being used more extensively than ever before in printing, publishing, packaging and converting, users want systems that offer ease-of-use and provide complete management of the printing process. Jetrion's response to those demands is the timely introduction of these two outstanding new products.” The Jetrion 2300 gives the industry an ultra-high resolution inkjet printing capability that sets a new standard for print quality, and the Bindery Manager provides unprecedented real-time management control of inkjet production. Both offerings also allow users to address critical quality issues such as Six Sigma and ISO initiatives by simplifying the data collection and analysis process. According to Stack, “they both are the result of Jetrion's strong commitment to advance the growth of the inkjet market with technology and vision." Jetrion 2300 Inkjet System The ultra-high resolution Jetrion 2300 for both large and small character inkjet printing was developed specifically for quality-driven, high-value applications such as outer case coding, product marking and labeling. It prints barcodes, sequential numbers, sell-by dates, text messages and logos with unrivalled sharpness. The PC-based Jetrion 2300 controller uses the Windows XP operating system with its powerful native networking, to make operation both intuitive and straightforward. The Jetrion 2300’s networking capability makes it stand apart from its single system competitors. Among the many other industry-leading features of the easy-to-program Jetrion 2300 are a true WYSIWYG graphical user interface, advanced database storage, simple text entry, drop-down barcode menus, graphics selection from any raster image file format, and ready access to virtually unlimited stored message files. The Jetrion 2300 employs state-of-the-art piezo impulse printhead technology capable of using multiple ink types, including oil-based, solvent and UV, to print on a wide range of media at high resolution. Depending on a user’s speed and print width requirements, the Jetrion 2300 is available in a variety of configurations with industry-proven XJ-128 and XJ-500 Xaar printheads. Jetrion Bindery Manager A powerful industrial printer management system, the Jetrion Bindery Manager is an advanced, sophisticated monitoring and management tool for bindery printers that links data networking technology with industrial inkjet printer technology. Employing innovative hardware and software, the Jetrion Bindery Manager interfaces with a broad spectrum of printer makes and models. The system provides a common data acquisition channel that normalizes the disparate information inflow from the different types of industrial printers used in high-volume multi-vendor printer environments. The Jetrion Bindery Manager allows for the complete management of the enterprise by permitting the integration of data from older legacy printers. With its easy-to-use graphical user interface, the Jetrion Bindery Manager provides several key networked benefits, including consolidated management of multiple industrial printers, centralized storage of printer operating data and an integrated data view to monitor faults and print/product throughout a production run. An interface to the Domino JetArray is available exclusively from Jetrion in this release of the Bindery Manager. The feature-rich Jetrion Bindery Manager is a unique, cross-platform management tool that enables implementation of optimal inkjet printing solutions during the production process as well as proactive preventative maintenance.
