GLS Companies/NEXT Precision Marketing Installs MCS Perfect Match System to Support Digital Variable Growth

Press release from the issuing company

Minneapolis, MN - GLS Companies/NEXT Precision Marketing announces its installation of the MCS Perfect Match Camera Verification System to support the company’s significant growth in digital variable work. GLS/NEXT has been expanding its range of integrated services to accommodate diverse print and digital marketing communications campaigns.

With the MSC Perfect Match system, GLS/NEXT can achieve error-free matching of multiple personalized components in a single mail piece. Initially, GLS/NEXT used two cameras on the Perfect Match to verify the personalized insert in a direct mail campaign by showing the recipient’s address. The Perfect Match cameras verified that the personalization on the insert matched the address on the outside. Since then, GLS/NEXT has added four additional cameras to conduct pocket verification, ensuring the correct signature gets placed in a feeder.

“Multi-media campaigns must be carefully coordinated and verified to ensure consistency between components,” said Steve Kirk, VP of Operations for GLS/NEXT. “The Perfect Match system ensures error-free performance, eliminating any potential production mistakes before they occur.”

To meet the growing demand for digital variable pieces, GLS/NEXT now offers saddle stitch variable which is comprised of inserted components that are finite and tied specifically to the individual consumer buyer. For example, in a job that calls for individually identifiable redeemable cards embedded inside the piece, the Perfect Match system reads the cards as they are being applied on the inside. Then they are closed, glued and addressed. Any mismatch would be identified immediately, making the card non-redeemable.

According to Kirk, GLS/NEXT production floor staff has found the Perfect Match System to be the easiest and quickest system to learn in comparison to alternative technology they have worked with.

“GLS/NEXT runs over two million pieces per month through this line. As jobs run more smoothly upstream and downstream, we experience increased productivity. The whole process in itself has allowed us to eliminate stoppages,” added Kirk.
