The “Small Business Revolution” award recognizes entrepreneurial spirit as part of nationwide documentary project

Fans who submit nominations at SmallBusinessRevolution.org have chance to win weekly prize

SHOREVIEW, Minn. - To kick off National Small Business Week, Deluxe Corporation is proud to announce the “Small Business Revolution” award, a contest that encourages the public to nominate their favorite small business for a chance to win $25,000.

Deluxe’s Small Business Revolution – a yearlong documentary project that celebrates vibrant and impactful small businesses across the country – is seeking nominations for this national award. The winning business will receive $25,000 from Deluxe, a leading provider of small-business marketing and financial services that launched the Small Business Revolution campaign in January as part of its 100th anniversary celebration.

The Small Business Revolution contest gives customers and clients the chance to reward their favorite small business by nominating them for the award. Starting today, nominations can be submitted at SmallBusinessRevolution.org. Leading investor from ABC’s Emmy Award-winning hit show Shark Tank Robert Herjavec, who joined the Small Business Revolution campaign to help Deluxe shine a spotlight on hardworking entrepreneurs coast-to-coast, and a panel of small-business experts from Deluxe will choose the winner.

“Deluxe and I are looking for the entrepreneur who really exemplifies the character of the Small Business Revolution – a committed community member who has made a lasting impact on the lives of his or her employees, customers and neighbors,” said Herjavec.

Small business fans who submit nominations will be rewarded, too. Each person who makes a nomination is entered into a weekly drawing for a $100 gift card. The winner of the $25,000 Small Business Revolution award will be selected in November 2015, the month during which Deluxe officially marks its 100th anniversary.

“National Small Business Week is the perfect time to celebrate the tremendous role these entrepreneurs play in the nation’s economy, and the Small Business Revolution award is just another way we are celebrating them,” said Amanda Brinkman, chief brand and communications officer for Deluxe. “This award is unique in that not only are we crowdsourcing the Small Business Revolution award, we want the winning business to receive the prize from their biggest fan.”

Deluxe also invites small-business owners and consumers to join the revolution by telling stories of their favorite small businesses using the hashtag #smallbusinessrevolution.
