Décor Productionserver has been developed especially for the industrial décor reproduction printing. This software unites the experience and developments of the last 18 years from the areas of Color Managements and the comprehensive control of printing systems in order to provide all functions which are required in industrial digital décor reproduction printing, e.g. for finishing of wood-based panels, laminates and décor papers.

With Décor Productionserver ColorGATE presents a bridge between the new versatility of digital decoration and the established conventional print processes. Due to a wide range of supported file formats, correct processing of complete design files, e.g. from Photoshop or utilizing pre separated and screened input files is possible.

Especially configured Color Management functions for the decoration and finishing pro-cesses enable the reprocessing and color adaption of previously created greyscale and 1-Bit data. Data transfer of 
1-Bit TIFF gravure files enables to combine and process single separation freely. With the 1-Bit-Tiff-Input-Module (1BITM) ColorGATE offers a simple and secure workflow for processing 1-Bit TIFF files as input data.

The Multichannel PSD Module (MPSDM) supports design files based on the Photoshop file formats (.psd, .psb) natively, including files that have been created in multichannel mode. MPSDM was developed for décor as well as for textile and ceramics printing purposes. 

Furthermore, MPSDM enables a complete ICC Color Management for files from three up to eight color channels. User defined ICC profiles can be assigned to the designated multichannel ink sets to ensure a color correct output. 

Due to an improved Color Management technology it is now possible to use ICC profile based color conversion from any input to any output color mode.  With these tools, it is possible to accurately output multichannel files to any ink configuration: from RGB, CMYK, CMYKplus, nColor to RGB, CMYK, CMYKplus, nColor.

The aNy Color Profiler 3+4 ch and 3-8 ch Modules (NPFM4, NPFM 8) enables ICC profiling of any color set above and beyond the standard process colors, such as CMYK. These profilers were developed for the décor, textile and ceramic printing areas of application. For the optimum support of the entire color management workflow, automatic preview profiles are also generated in addition to the output profiles that can be used as working color space and soft-proof profiles in all design applications, even if these do not support n-Color in the first place.

The Media and Light Profiler Module (MLPFM) offers a simple and at the same time secure workflow to compensate deviations in the media coloration which is especially important when working with natural materials, such as paper.

The MLPFM allows a straightforward adaption of existing ICC profiles to changes in the media coloration or the illuminant. The adaption can be achieved without a time-consuming new profiling. Thus, it is possible to consider various media colorations or specific illuminants without any loss of time, which is especially important in industrial printing environments. Furthermore, the MLPFM enables the adjustment of a profile in terms of the used illuminant. Illuminants beyond D50 (daylight standard), such as D55, D65, Illuminant A and Tungsten are also eligible.  

The Quality Assurance Module (QAM) along with ColorGATE´s innovative recalibration technology Media Device Synchronization (MDS) are ensuring a color consistent reproduction of equal print runs any time. 

Wemhöner MasterDigital, ColorGATE SmartControl and Productionserver
At Ligna 2015, Wemhöner will demonstrate two lines for surface processing. Precise high-speed digital printing roll-to-roll in width of 2,400 mm is Wemhöner’s main topic. An economic, small lacquering line in 1,300 mm width for high gloss UV-lacquer will be presented during the show as well. Furthermore, Wemhöner shows a real module of their lay-up technology implemented in its double-sided EIR-technique. Under the name “Master Control Station 4.0” Wemhöner introduces interactive software and hardware solutions for RIP software, central computers with warehouse management and visualisation.

The MasterDigtal printing system a bi-directional digital printing enables flexible production processes from a lot size of a single piece, regardless of decor changes. In addition to the technology of digital printing onto sheet materials Wemhöner also offers digital printing on paper, (roll to roll), based on the multi-pass system. The industry-standard equipment design ensures high precision prints. Production capacity ranges from 80 to 1,000 m²/h depending on the print masters and configuration. The modular designed Wemhöner controller is upgradeable to higher capacities. At Wemhöner bi-directional printing represents harmony and perfection in surface finishes. The system with 2,560 nozzles per print head produces a print resolution of 600 x 600 dpi.

Wemhöner MasterDigital operation system is SmartControl IP OS of ColorGATE, the Industrial Printing Operating System. SmartControl ensures a high quality continuous operation, e.g. via the control of cleaning cycles during a running production. Optimum supply and synchronization of the print heads with printing data is the general basis for an interruption-free production of continuous designs. The print height dependable correction allows bi-directional printing. All these functions can be accessed and controlled via the touchscreen interface SmartControl Touch. 

The Industrial Inkjet Driver, also element of the Décor Productionserver, can be configured to produce print data (contone, single- or multilevel) for virtually all possible ink configurations and resolutions in common file formats. The color space control offers a maximal color space for any multipass print application.

Ink Saver is an exclusive ColorGATE innovation that reduced ink costs by up to 30 percent. Ink Saver technology uses special DeviceLink profiles to optimize color composition; this technology reduces the CMY portions in the motif and replaces them with a greater proportion of black. Therefore, the color application will always be as efficient as possible. 

ColorGATE know how transfer
ColorGATE offers for companies who operate industrial printing systems for decoration purposes individual trainings and seminars for the specific know how transfer. The content of the seminars will be adapted individually to the respective questions, problems and fields of applications of the participants.  Furthermore, ColorGATE supports new and upcoming projects right from the start or by finding and optimizing new or existing workflows.
