Nexpress Intelligloss Solution Delivers Higher-Gloss Images For Higher Marketing Impact

Press release from the issuing company

DÜSSELDORF, Germany — Adding high gloss for enhanced image quality in brochures, book covers and other photo-rich pieces produced on the NexPress 2100 press is easy, employing a new imaging solution from NexPress Solutions, Inc. At the Drupa 2004 trade show, NexPress is demonstrating its new IntelliGloss solution, which enables print providers to add a high-gloss coating to printed pieces for higher marketing impact. The IntelliGloss solution is a cost-effective and easy-to-use near-line offering that gives users enhanced image quality and productivity improvements. It features an optional fifth-imaging unit, DryInk Clear and the new seamlessly integrated, near-line NexGlosser unit, which achieves higher gloss than UV-coating processes, as well as operator training. NexPress’ IntelliGloss solution is the company’s latest imaging solution to take advantage of an optional fifth-imaging unit. Previously announced and also being shown at Drupa, the NexPress IntelliCoat solution lets users add a clear DryInk coating for greater image protection and greater productivity. The NexPress IntelliColor solution lets print businesses achieve a new dimension of color gamut unachievable through standard four-color process printing, enabling significant improvement in the reproduction of spot colors. "Our IntelliGloss solution further demonstrates our commitment to give print providers more than a press, but solutions that help power business success," said Venkat Purushotham, NexPress Solutions, Inc. President and CEO. "This solution will expand the range of high-value applications that print providers can offer their customers. The IntelliGloss solution improves the impact of marketing collateral and delivers results that marketing professionals and print-service providers are looking for in today’s market." NexPress IntelliGloss Solution The easy-to-use IntelliGloss solution offers an array of benefits to print providers producing image-rich, short-run jobs. • Enhanced image quality . The addition of high gloss will result in a high-value sheen for extra marketing impact and additional business opportunities for image-rich applications, such as brochures and direct-mail pieces. • Cost savings . The integrated, near-line gloss coating means there’s no need to print extra sheets in case of potential manual or mechanical errors, as used in traditional off-line coating process. • Productivity improvements . The NexGlosser’s barcode reader determines the precise job requirements, eliminating operator intervention and the chance for errors. • Spill and stain resistance. Users of the NexPress 2100 press can achieve significant improvement in resistance to spills and stains on printed pieces, providing greater image integrity and longer life for documents requiring more durability — such as book covers, brochures and postcards. The IntelliGloss offering is an option for the company’s NexPress Power and NexPress Optima Solutions. NexPress’ new Solution Series gives print businesses greater productivity and more efficient workflow through a series of new hardware, software and professional consulting services. NexPress’ IntelliGloss solution will be available to print providers worldwide later this year.
