21st Century Labels and Packaging Optimizes Production with HP Indigo WS6600 Digital Press

Press release from the issuing company

In business for 20 years, Fort Lauderdale, Florida-based 21st Century Labels and Packaging has historically operated conventional printing equipment to produce prime pressure sensitive labels, shrink films, folding cartons, pouches and stick packs, with orders ranging from 1,000 to 10 million labels. In 2014, 21st Century Labels and Packaging installed the HP Indigo WS6600 Digital Press to address demand for shorter run lengths, recognizing that digital printing would provide a competitive advantage. In less than one year, digital printing has grown from zero to more than 20 percent of the company’s revenue. 21st Century Labels and Packaging plans to upgrade its HP Indigo WS6600 Digital Press with a Value Pack to add all the functionality of an HP Indigo WS6800 Digital Press. With the upgraded press, 21st Century Labels and Packaging will be able to move additional work from flexo to digital.

The Value Pack upgrade for the HP Indigo WS6600 Digital Press will help 21st Century Labels and Packaging improve productivity, simplify color management, and diversify application options to deliver more value to brands and end customers. The Value Pack enables a wider frame width that will increase the company’s output with higher imposition efficiency and reduce costs, while providing quality comparable to or better than conventional printing technologies. With the upgraded HP Indigo WS6600 Digital Press, 21st Century Labels and Packaging will also be able to reduce the time it spends preparing color profiles and meet its customers’ strict color requirements in a variety of industries, including sports nutrition & wellness, health & beauty, pharmaceuticals & nutraceuticals, food & beverage and industrial products.

“We pride ourselves on new product development and innovation and are continually offering our customers new solutions to provide them greater value,” said Michael Stephens, president, 21st Century Labels and Packaging. “Digital printing will enable us to better address market trends and customer demand for shorter run lengths, faster turnaround times and personalization, and the HP Indigo WS6600 Digital Press is our latest investment to offer customers exceptional performance and quality for high-value labels and packaging applications.”
