AVT Brings Prestige To Press Set-Up And Control

Press release from the issuing company

Hod-Hasharon, Israel, May 6, 2004 – Advanced Vision Technology Ltd (AVT), announces the launch of its Prestige automatic press control package for central impression flexographic presses. The Prestige package includes solutions that automatically handle ALL make-ready tasks as well as control the associated press parameters during the run. The Prestige package, which is an option for the AVT PrintVision/Jupiter platforms, comprises three modules: The established pRegister module for automatic register pre-setting and control, the new innovative Presco module for automatic plate pressure pre-setting and control, and the I?Eal module for ?E-based color pre-setting guidance and run-time color management. Each of these solutions can significantly reduce make-ready time and material waste, and continuously monitor the required print quality throughout the run. “Register, plate pressure and viscosity level set-up are essential for quality reproduction of printed jobs, while these tasks are very costly in time and material span,” says Mr. Koby Shtaierman, Executive Vice President Sales and Marketing of AVT. “Press vendors and printers have been looking for solutions to automate these tasks and to accelerate make-ready while minimizing the material wastage in the process.” “AVT is proud to announce the Prestige, that automatically handles ALL these tasks. This innovative solution is another example of AVT’s ongoing communication with printers, converters and press vendors and its commitment to the present and future needs of our customers,” concluded Mr. Shtaierman. Prestige package solutions The pRegister module for register pre-setting and control brings up to ten colors into register within one revolution of the cylinder, saving make-ready time and costs while slashing waste of valuable substrates. Time saved by pRegister can increase press utilization and increase margins on short-run jobs. The Presco module is AVT’s new plate pressure set-up and control solution. It uses small color targets to determine plate positions while automatically and simultaneously bringing plates of up to ten color stations to optimal plate pressure. This is done in less than 3 minutes, using not more than 100 meters of material. Optional controls for Presco include a left-to-right pressure balance control and manual pressure fine-tuning, if needed. Cylinder positions are recorded and can support almost immediate plate pressure set-up for re-runs of similar jobs. The I delta Eal module is a color management solution for AVT PrintVision/Jupiter platforms. The Color Setting Assistance functionality enables printers to match approved color references during make-ready by using objective delta E–based color criteria. The automatic color measurement and analysis of the Idelta Eal module drives color setting guidance to assist the press operator to quickly get to the required colors. The delta E and delta Lab-based “Color History” feature displays each color variations through the course of the run and traces color changes and trends before they exceed the defined quality thresholds. The AVT Prestige, which is the only available solution for all make-ready tasks on the market, will be demonstrated during drupa 2004 at the AVT booth (Hall 3 F69) and at the Fischer & Krecke booth (Hall 15 A21) on the FlexPress 16S-10 flexographic press.
