WantedDesign to Feature Three Dynamic Magnetic Installations Using Transformative Surface Design Materials by Visual Magnetics

Press release from the issuing company

Three Dynamic Spaces installations to be shown at WantedDesign 2015, including an art installation by Dusen Dusen.

WantedDesign – a platform promoting and fostering the international design community and one of the marquee festival events of NYCxDESIGN week – will be celebrating the fifth anniversary of their WantedDesign Manhattan event this May. As part of the celebration, Visual Magnetics’ magnetic Dynamic Spaces® wall surface materials will be used to create three entirely unique, freestanding, interactive installations that speak to the idea of ‘play’.

A large-scale art installation featuring fashion-forward textile designer Dusen Dusenand a wall-to-wall magnetic dry erase brainstorming space for the Design Schools Workshop will be shown at WantedDesign Brooklyn from May 9-19. Both installations will highlight new Visual Magnetics’ products launching at WantedDesign – MindLayer magnetic dry erase ‘sticky notes’ for use in collaboration spaces and ModuLayer magnetic fabric wallcoverings with repositionable layers for endless pattern reconfiguration. A multi-purpose, transforming wall will also be shown from May 15-18 at WantedDesign Manhattan, and will be featured at the opening night party on May 15.

Visual Magnetics will be working with the creative team at WantedDesign and branding agency Raison Pure NYC to create the three innovative installations, highlighting the endless potential of designing for wall surfaces using these versatile magnetic materials.

“WantedDesign is all about connecting with inspiring people and companies. Our collaboration with Visual Magnetics is a wonderful exchange of ideas between our branding team at Raison Pure NYC, WantedDesign’s team and Visual Magnetics’ creative minds,” says Claire Pijoulat, who co-founded WantedDesign with Odile Hainaut.

“With the limitless options of wall treatments that Visual Magnetics offers, we decided to embrace the idea of modularity and create three Dynamic Spaces at WantedDesign this May,” she adds. “One will be used by our Design Schools Workshop students, one will be used and re-used for different purposes throughout the event, and one will give the opportunity to a designer to show, at a large scale, how to create a pattern.”
