DUSSELDORF, Germany--May 8, 2004-- Creo Inc. is launching a new Spire(TM) color server platform- the Spire CXP5000, and version 4.0 of the Spire CXP6000 color server at drupa 2004, the largest international trade show for print media production. The Spire color servers drive Xerox DocuColor digital presses for short-run, color printing. New Spire CXP5000 Version 1.0 The Spire CXP5000 color server is a robust, on-demand printing solution at a highly affordable system price for the Xerox DocuColor 5252 digital color press. Targeted at quick printers, service bureaus, data centers, in-plant printers, as well as commercial printers, the Spire delivers unmatched speed, throughput and color quality. Enhanced image and color quality, high-caliber print quality tools and variable information print solutions were capabilities that were once exclusive to the production market. New Spire CXP6000 Version 4.0 The latest version of the Spire CXP6000 for the Xerox DocuColor 6060, 2045, and 2060 digital color presses offers advances in workflow connectivity, flexibility and customization capabilities. Spire version 4.0 includes a broad set of new functions and options along with numerous enhancements designed to improve the overall achievable quality, increase flexibility in handling different types of jobs, and expand the range of applications that can be efficiently printed with the Spire color server. The new GUI design enables better customization, enhanced production, quick and easy processing of files into jobs, and tracking of jobs and printer resources. Version 4.0 also offers new security options that enable users to introduce new services for high security jobs with sensitive or confidential content. Seamless Connectivity with Xerox Workflow Spire color servers can now connect seamlessly to the Xerox FreeFlow(TM) Print Manager digital workflow via the Xerox XPIF interface. With XPIF commands automatically converted to Spire job ticket format, Spire users can easily submit jobs from Xerox FreeFlow Print Manager to Spire without the need to reprogram job parameters, saving not only time, but room for errors. New color features allow printer output to be optimized for different substrates by using ICC profiles for different media stocks. At drupa, Creo is also launching the new Digital Print Integration for Prinergy workflow management systems, which integrates offset printing with the Spire color servers and the Xerox DocuColor digital color presses. Creo has collaborated with Xerox to enable Prinergy to launch the Xerox FreeFlow(TM) Print Manager and to submit jobs for digital printing to the Spire color servers driving the Xerox digital presses.
