Press release from the issuing company

Weymouth, MA – CMYK Distributors, Inc., the exclusive U.S. distributor of Filter Klear Fountain Filtration Systems by CECO Environmental, today announces the installation of a second Filter Klear Fountain Filtration System at Qualprint in Pittsfield, MA.  With this install, Qualprint is now equipped with Filter Klear Fountain Filtration Systems on their 6- color and 8- color Komori offset presses.

The Filter Klear Fountain Filtration System meets a critical need in the pressroom. Utilizing advanced nanofiber technology featuring ceramic nanofibers on a micro-glass matrix, Filter Klear provides outstanding reduction of calcium, virus, bacteria, cysts, endotoxin and many other submicron particles through both electro-adhesion and mechanical processes. The result is zero discharge and zero waste of incoming water while filtering particulates down to .002 microns.

Qualprint services a variety of industries, with their biggest markets being higher education and luxury products.  At Qualprint, sustainability is one of their top priorities, and they are constantly investing in new technology to stay true to this commitment. For example, Qualprint has 700 solar panels on the roof of their plant, making them one of the only printers in the United States to generate energy onsite. They are also an FSC certified printer, among many other green initiatives.

“Given our commitment to operating an environmentally sustainable company, the Filter Klear Fountain Filtration System was an obvious solution for us as we sought to reduce the amount of waste water, paper waste, and chemicals that we were disposing of,” said Jeremy Pemble, Pressroom Manager, of Qualprint.  “With Filter Klear, we have tripled the effective life of our fountain solution.  Our press runs have been very stable since we installed Filter Klear and it has definitely helped to reduce our defects by greatly reducing our paper-related issues.”

“Customers who incorporate the Filter Klear Fountain Filtration System into their mix of pressroom technology virtually eliminate tank and pan maintenance and report significantly reduced consumption of fountain solution,” said Mark Williams, Director of Sales, CMYK Distributors, Inc.  “The filter cartridges on the Filter Klear Fountain Filtration System remove dirt and contaminants in the water while maintaining conductivity levels.  The Filter Klear Fountain Filtration System is a constant safeguard against dirt and contaminants from the incoming water, ink, paper, etc.  It is an economical solution that saves customers significantly in terms of time and wasted chemicals-- and it has a positive impact on the environment.  We are delighted to bring this level of value to customers like Qualprint.”

The Filter Klear Fountain Filtration System is lightweight and portable. It is easy to install and connects directly to the press via the air supply hose. Benefits include:

  • Zero Discharge; Zero Waste of Incoming Water
  • Biofilter Technology (cuts odor and bacteria)
  • Reduces Press Downtime and Maintenance
  • Decreases Fountain Solution Consumption and Disposal Costs
