Press release from the issuing company

Graphic Design USA Honors blu eCigs’ Creative Team for Their Work on blu PLUS+ Rechargeable Kit and blu Tanks

Charlotte, NC – blu eCigs proudly announces its recognition by Graphic Design USA (GDUSA) as a recipient of a 2015 American Package Design Award for its imaginative package design of the new blu PLUS+™ Rechargeable Kitand blu Tanks™. The American Package Design Awards is the fastest-growing design competition, which generated over 2,000 entries this year – and honored blu eCigs as a winning brand that shone through their highly selective award criteria.

GDUSA award recipients are those that use the power of design to create an aesthetic package that also enforces the brand’s overarching message. As cluttered shelves become a detrimental noisemaker for buyers, a product’s package design has become the most valuable differentiator in a buyer’s purchasing decision. GDUSA recognizes the creative teams that have successfully forged an emotional connection between the buyer and the product, and ultimately helped make the sale.

“Matching the enhanced satisfaction with its packaging without having to physically spell it out was the goal when designing the blu PLUS+ Rechargeable Kit and blu Tanks packaging. Its three-dimensional geometric pattern was intended to make these products appear monumental, which they truly are in both usage and design,” said Richelle Dessert, blu eCigs Graphic Designer. “It was crucial that the blu PLUS+ packaging relayed this message, while being both eye-catching and appealing. Now, when consumers see our product, it doesn’t just look like any other that they would see at point of sale – it stands out as something bigger and better.”

GDUSA Editor Gordon Kaye notes: “Marketers and retailers are challenged as never before to promote their brand and convey their message. Package design, in-store graphics and point-of-purchase design are increasingly the difference makers in the consumer’s purchasing decision. The blu eCigs creative team have produced an attractive package, yes, but also excelled at advancing the brand promise and forging a connection with the buyer at the moment of truth. That is the definition of an award-winner.”

blu eCigs will be showcased as an American Package Design Award winner in the April 2015 edition of GDUSA’s 2015 Package Design Annual, as well as a digital and web version of the Annual. See http://gdusa.com or http://www.blucigs.com/ for additional information.
