Baker Goodchild Underlines Highest Quality Control Procedures

Press release from the issuing company

Birmingham-based direct mail fulfilment and print management services provider

Baker Goodchild, has announced that it’s Quality Control and Culture Department is achieving the highest possible standards, thanks to a series of procedures and quality control measures that are in place that ensure that its client’s direct mail requirements are all being met, thereby providing consistent client satisfaction at all stages.

The direct mail fulfilment company is known for its high quality procedures, underlined by its Quality Control and Culture Department, which ensures that all requirements and procedures are carried out and standards adhered to.

As an indication, Baker Goodchild’s mailing machines have the ability to check for double and missing inserts. Once the machine has flagged it up it will display an alert for the mail machine operator to resolve and investigate where the issue is. Certain machines are also equipped with OMR (Optical Mark Recognition), 2D barcodes enabled on the machines, which ensure 100% matching for all envelopes and inserts.

Baker Goodchild is also ISO9001 accredited, a quality management programme which has certain checks and procedures contained within it, which Baker Goodchild adhere to. This starts from the process of quoting the client, right through to the final invoice and despatch.

Quarterly reviews are also carried out, to monitor, track, modify and enhance the efficiency of the production and quality sector within Baker Goodchild. Apart from the quarterly reviews, there are also regular team meetings where the staff members participate to discuss the daily, weekly and monthly jobs to see how the company can be more efficient and ensure that the efficient quality control is maintained and adhered to.

At all stages of job production clients are kept informed and shown samples of their mailing to show that everything is being carried out to the client’s requirements and expectations. In addition, all of Baker Goodchild’s production operators constantly monitor and access all of the production output to ensure that the highest quality of service is provided at all times.

There is also one dedicated Quality Controller who monitors all the jobs that are being processed within the company on a daily basis.

This includes the following for all the jobs.

  • Jobs cards being created and all tasks documented.
  • Sample packs – A sample pack of the end product is created and shown to the client.
  • Printing – Ensuring that the quality of the print is of the highest achievable standard.
  • The fulfilment of the mailing is also of the highest standard.
  • Random spot-checks and interval checks are also carried out in all production departments to monitor the quality of the product throughout the production of the job.
  • Ensuring that the service that is being provided is of highest possible quality.

Furthermore, random spot-checks are also carried out by the Operations Director, Production Manager, Production Supervisor and Campaign Co-Ordinator to assist the Quality Controller and ensure quality is maintained at all levels. If a mistake, error or issue is identified, then the Quality Controller will rectify the situation and inform the relevant department straightaway. The respective account representative and production management team are always informed about the stage at which their job is to maintain the client’s expectations and keep them informed of its progress within the company.

Commenting on the high quality standards being achieved by the company, Baker Goodchild Operations Director, Wesley Sinclair, stated, “It’s important to me and the team here at Bakergoodchild that quality is adhered to the highest standard at all times. I always compare it to a restaurant, when you are ordering some food from one of your favourite restaurants you know exactly what you are going to get, top quality food, and when our employees are producing a client’s job they need to treat their work like they are cooking the best steak to a celebrity. It’s important that we keep our customers happy.”
